The Hoover Junior vacuum cleaner is a machine of metal on wheels. It is powered by electricity. The base of the cleaner comprises a motor, in front of what is a vacuum, with a rectangular mouth placed flat on the floor. Inside the mouth of the suction mechanism is a cylinder covered with rows of bristles. When lit, the engine is running round the barrel, beating the dust from the carpet, which is then sucked through the mouth and a metal tube in the cloth bag. Two small wheels attached to the base of the cleaner to allow the machine to be easily pushed over the carpet, gathering dust as it moves. The base of the dirt devil junior upright vacuum cleaner is attached to a vertical metal handle long enough for an adult to push the cleaner without bending. The handle is bolted to the base with a flexible mechanism to allow the handle to move back and push the base of the cleaning under low furniture. The cloth bag screws on the metal tube at the base of the dirt devil junior upright vacuum cleaner, and is suspended by a metal coil three quarters of the height of the handle. A long metal clip slides along the top of the bag to keep dust in. The bag is emptied by unscrewing the tube and pulling it out of its clip. The bag opens and dust can be paid.
